Stephen mediates in most areas of civil work but particularly in the core fields of contract (e.g. contracts for the supply of goods and/or services), real property (i.e. land disputes), intellectual property, entertainment law, telecommunications, information technology, healthcare, sport and defamation. Since becoming a Chartered Arbitrator, Stephen has received appointments in international and domestic arbitration in the commercial sphere, some involving very high value claims. He has also chaired Rule K football arbitrations for the FA and hearings of the Football League’s Disciplinary Commission – see Stephen’s Arbitration CV.
Before qualifying as a Chartered Arbitrator, Stephen sat as Legal Assessor to the Disciplinary Panel of the Jockey Club for several years, dealing with corruption and other disciplinary enquiries in racing. He now sits as a Legal Assessor for the General Dental Council and the Health & Care Professions Tribunal Service, giving legal advice to panels on substantive and procedural law.
